Colorado based dermatology clinic, Colorado Dermatology Institute (CDI), achieves another “first” by being recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) at the highest level (Level 3) of NCQA Recognition as a Patient-Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) for quality patient-centered dermatologic care.

Dr. Reagan Anderson, DO

As the first dermatology clinic in the nation to receive this recognition, the status came after a rigorous review of CDI’s policies, procedures and outcomes. Not content with just being committed to what they believed were best medical and patient care practices, CDI requested that their practice be scrutinized as a whole by an outside nationally recognized third party. Through the evaluation process, NCQA determined that CDI goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding medicine to its community.

“NCQA Patient-Centered Specialty Practice Recognition distinguishes practices that communicate, collaborate and integrate care in ways that patients want and that improve quality,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “I commend the team at CDI for their achievement and for their commitment to continuous improvement.”

An excellent example of this is CDI’s unique affiliation with the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine; Department of Dermatology which provides CDI’s patients with expanded research based state-of-the-art treatment options.

To maintain their Level 3 Recognition, CDI must continue these best practices. To do so, CDI’s procedures, philosophy and its commitment to communication and coordinating care with other providers are designed to promote the best possible outcome for each patient.

NCQA Recognition attests to CDI’s emphasis on a rigorous and team-centered approach to addressing each patient’s issue with care, efficiency and consultation with primary care and specialty doctors for individualized, comprehensive and synergistic treatment. NCQA Recognition also signals to primary care practices that CDI is ready to be an effective partner in caring for patients they have in common.

“Being recognized by the NCQA is such an incredible feeling and knowing that we are the first and only dermatology clinic in the nation to receive PCSP Level 3 recognition is truly an honor. This wouldn’t be possible without our amazing team,” said Reagan Anderson, D.O. of CDI. “Our team strives to ensure that every patient that comes through our doors feels that sense of quality patient care that we aim to provide every single visit.”
